  1. My interpretation of the scene where Sarah Palmer is watching the animal documentary is that what we see on her TV represents Leland and her killing Laura. Leland abused Laura for years, and Sarah looked away. The TV is her own conscious. She feels guilty. Later this season we see Sarah again, more or less consciously watching a loop of a boxing match on TV. One boxer beats the other down, repeated over and over again. I believe it's representative of Sarah's guilty mind being stuck in a loop, where she beats herself down over and over again. Scenes with Sarah, as well as scenes with Audrey later that season, seem to be more like vignettes, like insights into the state of their minds rather than being part of a plot, which is why they seem so disconnected from everything else.

  2. Interestingly … the Palmers house in Part 2 and again in Part 18 is exactly the same, including the drapes and the lamps that we see inside the house. It is not the same footage as the time of day is different and lamps have been turned on differently, but the exact likeness of the house itself is further underlined by using the same camera angle in both shots.

  3. From the "Nobody Cares Department", the actor playing Mike actually is one-armed (it's not special effects). His name is Al Strobel. Really nice guy: he was at Twin Peaks Fest this year in Snoqualmie. Really friendly. Just don't ask to see his missing arm: he lost it in a car accident long ago.

  4. The actor playing the one-armed man really lost his arm in an auto accident in high school. You need to tie Hank to a chair and go to Amazon Prime and watch Twin Peaks Season 1 and 2 and Fire Walk With Me. I keep IMDB open to the full cast of Twin Peaks when I watch so I can check on any of the actors.

  5. It is Laura Palmer who says, "I feel like I know her, but sometimes my arms bend back." There isn't any satisfying explanation in the original series, although there is a memorable scene in which Nadine Hurley, after whatever transformation causes her to acquire baboon strength, breaks a rowing machine by pushing the oars all the way back until they break. Nadine's transformation seems to indicate some connection to the forces within the Lodges, but I don't have any cogent theory to connect it all.

  6. Lol the convo about horse love and ownership was hilarious. I'm a veterinarian so if you ever want to discus horse breeding let me know. It can be pretty violent and Collecting semen is scary as fuck. You might get a kick out of this, we use horse flesh lights to collect it.

  7. The ace of spade looks a lot like the silhouette of an ants head. I have no clue what it's supposed to be though. It does look a bit like the "head" of the "evolution of the arm".

  8. You may have already figured this out by now, if so, my apologies, but the actor sitting at the bar in front of "Hodor" is Balthazar Getty, who stared in Lost Highway, which Lynch has stated takes place in the Twin Peaks universe.

  9. Yikes! I'm embarrassed for you, having such little info and flaunting the fact! David Bowie played Phillip Jeffries in FWWM; whoever Bob/Dopplecooper was communicating with was posing as that character. The bartender you were poking fun at was played by Walter Olkewicz, who was Jacques Rennault in the original series and FWWM. The Tree, referred to in the script as "the evolution of the arm," replaced "Little Mike" Anderson (The Man from Another Place) who was originally called "the arm." Al Stroebel, the actor who plays the one-armed man, lost his arm in an auto accident as a teenager (especially nice touch to make fun of him in your commentary.) Yes, that was Shelley (the waitress) Johnson at the bar (remember her husband, Leo?); the other 3 with her were not in previous installments. That's just info off the top of my head that you were missing before you posted whatever that was that you posted. Hint for next time: Spend at least two minutes at imdb.com before gagging on your shoe leather again. Jeezis!

  10. Mike Anderson (the little person from the original series) taught the cast how to speak backwards. They recorded it and then played it backwards. But apparently, they all forgot how to do it because it's not as clear as before.

Arms bend backwards has to do with how Laura Palmer was tied up the night she died.

  11. One thing about the nature documentary, it's tinted blue, and I think scenes that are tinted blue in the show indicates something mystical. Also, I do believe Sara Palmer can see Bob.

Also, the girl James is looking at was definitely not in season 1 (Jessica Szchor). She would have been too young. And another thing, I don't know what you think women talk about, but the dialog in that scene is stilted as an aesthetic choice. Lynch is not trying to capture the true essence of female bonding. Still this review is a lot of fun. Have an upvote.

  12. You get things wrong and that's okay because you admit to it… just also realize that sometimes we get things wrong too… like the person who told you about the Black Lodge. The red rooms are the Black Lodge as far as we know since they did refer to it as such, but there could be more to it. It's really vague and so much is based on fan interpretation.

  13. Think of the horse as not as white, but rather pale. It shows up when Leland kills Maddy and shows up again in Fire Walk with Me when Leland is raping her daughter. So I would gather that the previous scene with Laura represents her actual death as Laura had the same dream as Cooper before she died.

  14. you guys clearly don't know what's going on. You need to do a shot by shot from the very beginning, including Fire Walk With Me and the Missing Pieces. I mean come on, you don't even know who Phillip Jefferies is!!

  15. 4:05
I got the impression that the wife and lawyer (whom she is having an affair with) set Bill up and when she visits him she let's him know as much. That is why he reacts that way, because he knows she set him up and there is nothing he can do about it.
I thought that was rather clear from her dialogue with the lawyer and interaction with "Bob Cooper" (my name for the doppelganger.

  16. Also, the well-lit, heavy-set bartender that you two referred to as "Hodor" is the actor Walter Olkewicz, who portrayed "Jacques Renault" in the original TWIN PEAKS, but he died in the show… so he's credited as "Jean-Michel Renault" in season 3… so, clearly he's a relative (perhaps a twin) of the previous character he played.

  17. ok, theory for you James (and Hank, I suppose…but let's be realistic here) about the Bobleganger. I think Laura has been reincarnated, he is still looking for her, and her highschool principal has a clue to her whereabouts. 1) Lynch has said in an interview that he believes in reincarnation. 2) He is desperate for information from a high school principal, Hastings. So much so that he seduced the man's wife. 3) He is seen making arrangements to get that information from Hastings secretary. 4) Leland tells Cooper to find Laura. 5) In the Red Room Laura says she is dead, yet she lives.

Its still early in the show, but it's never too early to break out the tinfoil hat and start off the wall theorizing when it comes to Twin Peaks!

  18. re: Weird branch thing – I seem to remember something from the original season where Copper is called 'The Arm' or something like that. Don't know if that's relevant to the so called "Evolution of the Arm". If so, is the weird branch thing actually Copps brain? (I did think it sort of looked like a brain neuron).

  19. (James) I'll be the first to admit – I completely didn't make the connection that Phillip Jeffries was the name of the FBI special agent played by David Bowie in Fire Walk With Me. That would explain why he knew about the black lodge and Bob. But was it really him? (Him as a character I mean, not David Bowie :[ )
